Ejectment II; A Ghastly Silence Ensues... This is a painting that the Artist finished in the studio just before Christmas, having started it during his annual visit to the Black Valley near Killarney in Kerry. There had been a huge outcry back then in 2017 in respect of the high numbers of homeless people, and indeed families...near 9,000 persons at that time in the Republic of Ireland without a home or living in sub-standard accommodation. The Financial Institutions are continuing to pursue families in the Courts with 'evictions' being the end product in many cases. 'Ejectment' was the common term for 'evictions' back in the 1800's...somehow, very little has changed. The oil painting is on Canvas Board. A set of limited edition prints, signed and stamped by the artist, is available; email the artist for full details.
